Producer responsibility is a legal obligation for producers of electrical and electronic equipment, which obliges producers to organise the recycling and management of discarded equipment at their own expense.
Elker assumes the following producer responsibility obligations on behalf of producer organisations and producers that have a transfer agreement with a producer organisation:
Elker organises the collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment, as well as necessary storage and delivery to preliminary treatment plants. Together with our partners, we are also constantly developing the recycling process so that the materials contained in the equipment can be utilised as efficiently as possible.
Elker also compiles the necessary information from producers into reports for the supervisory authority.

Elker informs producers about the latest changes in legislation and other current issues, and also provides information on WEEE recycling and collection points to consumers and other stakeholders.
Elker Ltd can act as authorised representative for producers domiciled abroad that import, produce or sell their products in Finland. A company registered in Finland can manage their producer responsibility obligations through Elker's cooperation network in most EU countries as well as in Norway and Switzerland.
