Elker Oy is liable for its owners obligations in such a manner that the obligations set out in the EU's WEEE directive and the corresponding obligations of the Finnish legislation are fulfilled.

Elker Oy has organised a waste collection network for WEEE returning from both consumers and companies. The network is based on utilisation of existing waste recovery systems and, when necessary, establishment of new waste collection points. The basic principle of the reception point network is the creation of an easy and convenient way of bringing WEEE to the recycling system organised by Elker Oy.

The Group comprises 850 electricity and electronics businesses operating in Finland. The operation of Elker Oy and the producer organisations that established it is non-profit.
