Processing of WEEE
Elker has over 360 reception points for waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). Private consumers can return their old electrical and electronic equipment to these reception points free of charge.

We require that our processors adhere to a standardised quality system e.g. ISO 14001 environmental system so that we can be sure of the quality of the operations.
11 regional and national processing plants operate nation-wide and cover all WEEE categories. Elker also has reception points specialised in business products. The operation complies with, and even surpasses the requirements of, laws and regulations and is cost-effective at the same time.
The operation adheres to the principle of proximity i.e. WEEE is processed and/or packed to achieve optimally effective transport as close as possible to the place of origin of the waste. The goal of the operation is to minimise the environmental impacts of WEEE and the amount of landfill waste (final disposal of waste) in all operation.
Reuse
The reuse of WEEE as whole equipment units or their components, prescribed by legislation, is carried out by operators that have concluded a reuse agreement with Elker.
In most cases reuse is carried out in connection with the processing plants but also other operators that have concluded a reuse agreement have a possibility to pick equipment for reuse from some of Elker's processing plants.
