Producer responsibility transfer
A lamp producer can transfer its producer responsibility to FLIP Association by making an agreement about it with FLIP.
Producer can order the template for the producer responsibility transfer agreement from info(a)elker.fi.
The producer must sign the producer responsibility transfer
agreement in duplicate and send both copies back to Elker Oy. FLIP Association's General Manager will
sign the agreements and return one copy to the producer. Elker Oy will enter the name
of the company in the producer register of the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment for Pirkanmaa and in a list containing the companies that have concluded FLIP
Association's producer responsibility transfer agreement.
Recycling fees and reporting
For electrical and electronic equipment brought
to the Finnish market and falling within the scope of the WEEE directive, a
recycling fee subject to the price list of the Elker will be charged.
FLIP Association requests quarterly reports from its members and companies that have
concluded a producer responsibility transfer agreement. Recycling fees are charged based on the
reports.
Each new member company that has concluded a
producer responsibility transfer agreement is to report to FLIP Association all
lamps falling within the scope of the directive after and including 13 August
2005, if the new company that has concluded the agreement has not demonstrably
fulfilled its producer responsibility before joining FLIP Association.
Recycling fees as part of product price
Recycling fee is a fixed part of product cost
which forms part of product price from producer to end-user. After 2011 the
recycling fee should not be shown separately from product price. Until then the
practice can be settled by the producers.
